Frequently asked questions
What happens to the PNG’s transparency?
A PDF of this kind does not keep it: transparent areas become white, which is how they would look printed on paper.
Can I mix PNG and JPG in the same PDF?
Yes. You can add images in different formats (PNG, JPG, WebP…) and order them however you like: each one takes up a page.
Will screenshots look sharp?
Yes. They are saved at high quality and at their original resolution, unless they are over 4,000 pixels on their longest side. The text in a screenshot reads without any trouble.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is created in your browser: this tool does not send the images or store them anywhere.
When to convert a PNG to PDF
PNG is the format of screenshots, and the most common need is to gather several into one document: the steps of an application, a proof of payment, a conversation, an error to send to support. In a PDF they all go together, in order, and open the same way on any device.
It is also useful for handing over a design, a floor plan or an infographic exported as PNG to someone who needs to print or file it.
Which page size to choose
For screenshots, “Each image’s own size” usually works best: every page measures exactly what the screenshot does, with no margins or white bands. Choose A4 if the PDF is going to be printed or attached to a file alongside other documents.
